about me, my spirit, & my creativity :

I am a dual-citizen Brazilian American, born in Los Angeles. Growing up, I survived 9 years of Catholic School in LA, and spent most summers and winters in Minas Gerais, Brazil. My unique dual-citizen upbringing expanded my awareness of, and my attraction to, so many things. The handmade, healthy locally-grown food, the magic of seeing wild animals in nature, vintage manual-drive cars, stained-glass windows in churches, hiking/swimming in waterfalls, contemplating the gains & losses of translation… as well as disparity, cultural norms, and religious rules…

I am an Artist in so many ways. I’ve dedicated most of my young life to the expression and refinement of my creative talents. My Spirit has always asked me to create; I have always obeyed. I have carved a path according to what my Spirit asks, because it makes me feel more alive, fulfilled, willing to keep on living, despite the material challenges and complexities of an Artistic journey. I’ve shown my Artwork in every place I’ve lived, including Los Angeles, São Paulo, Chicago, and Detroit.

I have created a lot more Artwork than what you will find on this website. I am facile when working with my hands, and have a formally trained in many materials / mediums / skills including:

• Oil, acrylic, watercolor, ink, gouache painting

• Chalk & oil pastel, marker, ink, graphite drawing

• Ceramic Sculpture, Pottery

• Murals, Film Photography, Collage

• Printmaking (silkscreen, etchings)

• Graphic Design (book design, typography, art direction)

I’ve been based near the Sheepscot River in Maine, since Fall of 2022. It’s perfect because my Spirit loves being on, in, near to water. Since moving to Maine, I’ve started learning to sail, surf, and scuba dive. I’ve become obsessed with Oysters and have recently started working as an oyster farmer! My creative projects of 2024 include:

• ceramic sailing trophies

• designed & created battle flag for racing sailboat Quill

• drawing studies of Maine-coast Charts

• poetry, daily writing, mail-art, sending letters & postcards

• studying Alchemy (via Golden Dome School)

• studying Oysters (much reading, shucking, tasting - particularly crassostrea virginica)

• studying Sailing (particularly in racing)

• stapler-in-jello April Fool’s prank at winter receptionist day job

• water tip jar performance/social experiment at summer FOH day job

• leave of absence from instagram

• growing moss on a ceramic chessboard
